Desolation is the first Castleview album in over a year and marks a lot of changes. This is the first album of mine to feature any hardware synths at all. It is also the first to be recorded under a new home studio setup and a new DAW in Reaper. Plus, it's the first album since 2013 to feature significant shoegaze influences, harkening back to the days of Hortus Conclusus, Paradise, and Dronefest in some ways but with a more mature approach to production.
